BIOGRAPHY
Born in Prague, Katka Adams fled home in 1968 after Russia invaded Czechoslovakia. Leaving loved ones behind, Katka and her mother slipped into snow covered Vienna and, soon after her 7th birthday, flew to Australia as political refugees, dreaming of sunshine.
Art was her constant companion through a rollercoaster childhood and this love of art led her to study at Sydney College of the Arts. In 1985 Katka drove to Lismore in a little Suzuki hatchback with her husband and newborn baby. Lismore felt like home. Living on Bundjalung land, in the northern rivers of NSW she found a community that was safe and caring, with plenty of sunshine, beauty and a connection to nature that nourishes and inspires her every day.
